Today world-wide, there are around 600 million persons aged 60 years and over; this total will double by 2025. The theme of this year older people’s day is “Leaving No One Behind: Promoting a Society for all”. This sensitization assumes that the awareness that demography matters for sustainable development and that population dynamics will shape the key developmental challenges that the world is facing in this century. Attitudes towards older people should be improved, the role they play in society should be more appreciated, we need to help older people live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives and provide them supports and appropriate health cares.
