PASCAR is an organisation of physicians from across Africa involved in prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and is concerned by the lack of progress in the diagnosis and effective treatment of cardiovascular disease across Africa. http://www.pascar.org/

 PASCAR has embarked on a continental program to assemble experts in the field of hypertension to identify evidence (or lack thereof) and produce a roadmap to address identification, diagnoses and treatment of hypertension in Africa.

This will include the following elements:

Clinical and very practical guidelines that answer the specific questions related to high blood pressure in Africa ;

 -  Implementation plan with the use of the World Health Organisation-Africa policy ;

  -  Monitoring, evaluation and regular revision.

CDBPH has been involved in this project to lead a proposal for a team consisting of Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) members as they are better placed to provide such services. The assignment was planned between 1st April and 30th May 2015 for a total of 38 days for the warehousing set up and monitoring and updating of database planned to continue for 12 months.
